The United States Human Rights Network works to help the people whose human, civil, and migrant rights are violated. They currently have over 200 groups that are members of the organization.

These groups seeks to bring attention to the crimes being committed against migrants. They also hope to bring relief to the people and families who are affected by this and provide them with the help they need.

One of this activist groups is called Border Angels. Located in San Diego, they have been helping migrants since 1986. The organization was created by Enrique Morones, a man horrified by the treatment of the immigrants along the United States and Mexican border.

Their main focus is the issues surround immigration reform and migrant rights. They also are fighting to prevent more border killing which are terribly common. One of their main challenges is to provide the community with education on this issue.

Since immigrant treatment is not covered in the media, it falls on the Border Angels to improve awareness on this subject. The group will host trips to the United States and Mexican border in order to leave water at the crossing points.

Jim and Larkin do this as part of their educational push for tours. Since the public has very little information about this, these border tours provide people with accurate border history and first hand experience of exactly what the conditions are like. Another of their programs is immigrant outreach. They bring families together and provide them with a safe place to connect and discuss their shared tragedies and concerns. Border Angels also provides free legal assistance on one day a week. TDuring the 2014 American immigration crisis, Border Angels worked hard to help the children and families crossing.

They gave the children toys, books, food, and clothing and also helped their families. When protestors tried to block the immigrants from entering, Border Angels provided them with safety and a place to rest. Thanks to the Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund, Border Angels will be able to continue helping people for a very long time.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are lifelong journalists and it is thanks to them that the Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund is functioning today. In addition, they are the co-founders of Village Voice Media and Phoenix New Times.

They were arrested by Joe Arpaio, the Maricopa County Sheriff, in 2007. The two men were dragged from their homes after dark after they made it known that the Sheriff was trying to cover his tracks.

Lacey and Larkin believers in the first amendment, ended up and sued the county for unsupported detainment. They won the settlement of over $3 million and decided to use this money to benefit others.

They came up with the idea for Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund, a group that would serve to finance and support other migrant, human, and civil rights groups. Since they are based in Phoenix, Arizona, they are heavily involved in the issues along the United States and Mexican border.
